Instructors - Create Student Groups

After you have logged into your EDGT account, you will need to create your first student group.  This will generate a Student-Access-Key that you will give to your students.  This will enable them to register with EDGT.  Please do not give your students the Instructor-Access-Key.

To do that Click on Instructor Mode and then Manage Students on the menu options bar.

In the box following New Student Group type in the name of your student group (i.e. Nursing 101), and then click on Create.

You will then be able to change any of the properties or advanced settings of the group.  In most cases, you will accept the default values and click the Submit button.  If you would like to change any of the student group settings.

1. Click on Advanced Settings if you would like to limit the dates that this key can be used by students or if you do not want this group to be included in any reports.
   
2. Click to open the Limit Reporting box if you would prefer to only view specific tutorials displayed for this group in your reports.  The tutorial(s) selected here will be the only ones displayed in the reports.  For example if you only teach Pharmacology and will only be using the tutorial, Basic Principles of Pharmacology, you would select that tutorial here.

After you’ve clicked Submit, you will see your new group displayed under My Student Groups with the Student-Access-Key that was generated.  You may now give this key to any new registering students or currently registered students that you would like to be placed (linked) to your new student group.
