Getting Started
In order for your instructors to gain access to any of EDGT’s online products, you must first register on the EDGT web site using the instructor-access-key received when the tutorial(s) were purchased.
An instructor must register before the students of that instructor can register. Please encourage your students to provide us with valid and correct e-mail addresses. We may need these addresses to send them password reminders or technical support information.
DO NOT give the instructor-access-key to students! They will not be able to use it to register. Each instructor will be given a Student-Access-Key to give to students when he/she registers on the EDGT Web site. If you write the student-access-key on the student instruction sheet, be sure that the numbers are absolutely clear and cannot be mistaken for other numbers. Also, be sure to include all dashes in any student-access-key.
The registration activities for both instructors and students take only a few minutes to complete and are one-time-only activities that do not need to be repeated. When returning to the EDGT web site, each registered individual will need to use the username and password designated during the initial registration process in order to access the products being previewed.
Instructor Registration
Using the Instructor-Access-Key given to you, complete the registration process following the steps listed below.
- Access the EDGT Web site at www.edgt.com.
- Click on REGISTER on the right side of the EDGT home page and then on Register With Your Access Key in the box that appears on your screen.
- Complete the following steps
- Click the radio button (the circle) in front of the statement I am an instructor/administrator with an institution.
- Enter the Instructor-Access-Key that was sent to you by EDGT or given to you by an individual at your institution.
- Confirm that your information is correct and click next.
- Choose your username and password. Enter a valid email address and zip code so if you forget your password, we will be able to retrieve it for you.
- Enter your address information and click next.
- A summary will display on the screen containing the information you have given us. EDGT will send a copy of this information to the e-mail address you provided.
- You may now start using the EDGT web site.

When you return to the EDGT web site, you should create your first student group which will create a student-access-key that you will give to your students, so they will be able to register as well. (See the instructions below for creating your first student group.)
Accessing and Using EDGT Online
When returning to the EDGT Web site, please do the following:
2. In the form labeled Returning Users, log in with your username and password. A new window will open containing a menu of all of your user options.
3. Click the option of your choice.
4. Follow the directions onscreen to use the option you selected.
Creating Your First Student Group
After you have logged into your EDGT account, you will need to create your first student group. This will generate a Student-Access-Key that you will give to your students. This will enable them to register with EDGT. Please do not give your students the Instructor-Access-Key.
You can create a student group as follows:
- Click on Manage Students on the menu options bar.
- Click on My Student Groups.
- In the box following New Student Group type in the name of your student group (i.e. Nursing 101), and then click on the Create button.
- You will then be able to change any of the properties or advanced settings of the group. In most cases, you will accept the default values and click the Submit button. If you would like to change any of the student group settings, continue to #5.
- You can add a description, if desired.
- Click on Advanced Settings if you would like to limit the dates that this key can be used by students or if you do not want this group to be included in any reports.
- Click to open the Limit Reporting box if you would prefer to only view specific tutorials displayed for this group in your reports. The tutorial(s) selected here will be the only ones displayed in the reports. For example if you only teach Pharmacology and will only be using the tutorial, Basic Principles of Pharmacology, you would select that tutorial here.
After you’ve clicked Submit, you will see your new group displayed under My Student Groups with the Student-Access-Key that was generated. You may now give this key to any new registering students or currently registered students that you would like to be placed (linked) to your new student group.
